Principle of the HDPL Diamond Tester:
You are testing the shortwave ultraviolet (SWUV) transparency of diamonds.
- Diamonds of Type IaA and IaAB
are absorbing SWUV light.
Most diamonds are of this type (Cape)
AFTER HPHT PROCESS THIS DIAMOND BECOMES CANARY YELLOW AND ORANGE.
- Diamonds of Type Ib
are absorbing SWUV light.
They belong to the Canary series.
AFTER HPHT PROCESS THIS DIAMOND BECOMES CANARY YELLOW, ORANGE AND GREEN.
- Diamonds of Type IIa and IIb
are transmitting SWUV light.
AFTER HPHT PROCESS THIS DIAMOND BECOMES COLORLESS (WHITE), PINK AND BLUE.
- Diamonds of Type IaB
are transmitting SWUV light.
Diamonds of this type are very rare.
