NATURAL COLORED DIAMONDS

|
PINK DIAMOND |
| A pink
diamond is a natural colored diamond that has a light red body color. They
are quite exotic and rare. A naturally occurring diamond that shows a
distinctly pink body color is considered a "natural pink fancy" diamond. The
term is often used loosely in the trade to describe any light red, light
purple or light purplish-red diamond. There are many variations in the
intensity or saturation of the color found in the naturally occurring pink
diamond, from "pale light pink", to "fancy intense pink".
Natural Pink diamonds are very rare indeed and in larger sizes ( over .50ct) become even rarer. Because of their extreme scarcity pink diamonds have become one of the most concentrated forms of wealth on the planet. A pink diamond that shows strong color with intensity and good clarity can run from $80,000 to $130,000 and up per carat (.05ct to .20ct can run $20,000 per carat example: a .05ct. pink diamond would cost $1000). Paler natural pink diamonds are available for less. An often realistic option is to consider a treated diamond. Many fine natural colored diamonds have an accompanying "diamond origin report" from one of the major international gem laboratories assuring its natural occurring origin or in other words that it is an unadulterated naturally colored diamond. |

BLUE DIAMOND |
| A naturally
occurring diamond with a distinctly blue body color is considered a "natural
blue fancy" diamond. diamonds that have a blue body color in daylight and
incandescent light are rare. It is more common to see diamonds that display
some light blue color under daylight, these diamonds are known as having a
fluorescent quality.
Natural Blue diamonds are very rare indeed and in larger sizes ( over .50ct) become even rarer. Because of their extreme scarcity blue diamonds have become one of the most concentrated forms of wealth on the planet. A blue diamond that shows strong color with intensity and good clarity can run from $40,000 to $80,000 and up per carat (.05ct to .20ct can run $15,000 per carat example: a .05ct blue diamond would cost $750). Paler natural blue diamonds are available for considerably less. Many fine natural colored diamonds have an accompanying "diamond origin report" from one of the major international gem laboratories assuring its natural occurring origin or in other words that it is an unadulterated naturally colored diamond.

YELLOW DIAMOND |
| A
yellow diamond is a natural colored diamond that has a full yellow body
color. They are quite exotic and rare. A naturally occurring diamond that
shows a distinctly yellow body color is considered a "natural yellow fancy"
diamond. There are many variations in the intensity or saturation of the
color found in the naturally occurring yellow diamond, from "pale light
yellow", to "fancy intense golden yellow".
Some people believe that yellow means
poor quality as far as diamonds are concerned, and that the best diamonds
are completely colorless. The view demonstrates that a little learning is
dangerous. What matters more is personal preference not received dogma. All
colors have different psychological effects. Yellow is a high attention
color, and can be perceived more quickly than other colors, for this reason
it is often used for safety clothing. Yellow is not, for most people, a high
preference color, so it is not as popular as other colors for gemstones.
Strangely, if you asked most people for a list of their favorite colors,
they would list blue, red, green, pink, amongst their favorites. Hardly
anybody would list white (alright we know that white is not strictly a
color), yet so many people insist that they only wear diamonds, and don't
wear coloured stones. We think these people are missing out very badly. |
