CHAMPAGNE DIAMONDS

In 1979, in a remote corner of north-west Australia, the first inkling of the largest diamond mine in the world became known. The Argyle Diamond Mine.

Geologists discovered that the diamonds from the Argyle mine had become colored when they formed 3 billion years ago. Enormous pressures from the earth's movement created diamonds beneath Australia's soil bright with fire and brilliance and color.

The Argyle mine is located in the remote East Kimberley region of northern Western Australia. Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, is a three-hour flight away from the mine site, and Kununurra, the closest town, a two-hour drive.

Argyle has its headquarters in Perth, Western Australia, where diamond sorting, diamond polishing, polished sales and business services are conducted.

Light Champagne, subtle and mysterious. Deep rich cognacs and all the shades in between making a palette of colors that has inspired remarkable jewelry unlike any designs ever seen before.

It took three billion years for these wonders of nature to form, and gather their extraordinary fire. Now that they have been discovered, Australia is ready to share this rich bounty with the rest of the world.
